ARMM Elections Postponed.

It was my parents' thirty first anniversary three days ago. That day should have been spent relaxing and enjoying each other's company, but because my younger brother had run for office in the coming ARMM elections, every waking moment was dedicated to my brother's campaign.

Countdown. July 22. It was supposed to be twenty days to election day. The night before, the LAKAS CMD official candidate for Regional Governor had called on them to go to Cotabato City for the announcement of the final line-up of the party, since there were four of them who were announced when there should have only been three. Going to Cotabato is not a joke. From Marawi, it will take about eight friggin' hours for them to reach Cotabato. Eight hours. Thank God when Lolo was Regional Governor of the ARMM he was able to finish the Circumferential Road linking provinces to one another, thus making travel time faster, shorter and far more convenient compared before. Still, that's eight friggin' hours.. err...

Anyway...When dad, mom, my brother, and their entourage, and all the other candidates got there, PGMA had decided and announced that the ARMM Elections 2008 be POSTPONED. She didn't even announce if it will be set on a later date.

WTF?!

All that time, effort, and money spent had gone down to NOTHING.

What in God's name is she waiting for?

A miracle to happen?

Postponing the elections... what for? To wait for whatever outcome of the MILF or Malaysia talks will be? Whatever it is, let it be. All this stalling isn't going to do us any good. My parents, although I know how busy they are, could have taken that time off from all the hooplah and just lounged away somewhere, celebrating their anniversary. I feel sorry for them, and for everyone else. Such a waste. SUCH A WASTE!

Singer Gwen Stefani has partnered up once more with Coty to launch a line of five new fragrances called Harajuku Lovers, inspired both by her personal interest in Japanese pop culture and street fashion, as well as her perceptions of her four back-up singers in real life.
The fragrances are called Love, Li'l Angel, Music, and Baby, after the stage names of her back-up "Harajuku Girls", and G for Gwen Stefani.

The World's Largest Swimming Pool. o_O

I like swimming pools, but I love the sea more. I don't really know how to swim (I can't even float to save my life!), but seeing this makes me want to take swimming lessons ASAP!
--------------------------------------------------------

If you like doing laps in the swimming pool, you might want to stock up on the energy drinks before diving in to this one.

It is more than 1,000 yards long, covers 20 acres, has a 115-foot deep end, and holds 66 million gallons of water.

The Guinness Book of Records has named the vast pool beside the sea in Chile as the biggest in the world.

But if you fancy splashing out on one of your own -- and you have the space to accommodate it -- then beware: this one took five years to build, cost nearly 1 billion, and the annual maintenance bill will be 2 million.

The man-made saltwater lagoon has been attracting huge crowds to the San Alfonso del Mar resort at Algarrobo, on Chile 's southern coast, since it opened.

Its turquoise waters are so crystal clear that you can see the bottom even in the deep end. It dwarfs the world's second biggest pool, the Orthlieb -- nicknamed the Big Splash -- in Morocco , which is a mere 150 yards long and 100 yards wide. An Olympic size pool measures some 50 yards by 25 yards.

Chile's monster pool uses a computer-controlled suction and filtration system to keep fresh seawater in permanent circulation, drawing it in from the ocean at one end and pumping it out at the other. The sun warms the water to 26c, nine degrees warmer than the adjoining sea.

Chilean biochemist Fernando Fischmann, whose Crystal Lagoons Corporation designed the pool, said advanced engineering meant his company could build "an impressive artificial paradise" even in inhospitable areas.

"As long as we have access to unlimited seawater, we can make it work, and it causes no damage to the ocean."
